Belmont County Seniors age 60 and older who do not have an adequate care giver or family support system may be eligible for Medical Transportation services to and from local health care facilities.
SSOBC provides transportation to medical appointments Monday through Friday until 2 pm, and Saturdays and holidays for those on dialysis treatments. This is a door to door service and individuals will be escorted into medical appointment centers as necessary. SSOBC does not provide personal aide service during the medical appointment and are unable to provide medical information to a provider. This service is solely designed to meet the transportation need of the senior consumer, and employees will not act on behalf of the consumer in any way.
Reservations for Medical Transportation services must be made at least 72 hours in advance, and may be limited based upon fleet availability. SSOBC’s Medical Transportation fleet consists of 14 vehicles including 4 vehicles which are handicap accessible.
Our medical drivers are instructed and certified in mandated CPR, 1st Aid, Defensive Driving, Blood Borne Pathogens and also have Sensitivity for the Elderly training.
