Home Care

Homemaking – SSOBC contracts with certain local home health agencies to assist seniors with light housekeeping, kitchen clean-up, light meal preparation and trash removal.

Personal Care – SSOBC’s contracted Homemaking agencies also provide Personal Care for eligible consumers in their home, in accordance with Ohio Department of Aging rules and regulations. The Personal Care Services includes bathing, grooming, and oral hygiene assistance.

Homemaking and Personal Care personnel do not: transport the consumer or drive the consumer’s vehicle, and do not administer medications in home settings.

For both Homemaking and Personal Care Services – A case manager will make an in-home evaluation to determine services and level of need. All services are limited to the client’s personal living quarters and to one to two hours per week. When someone needs more than an hour or two of support each week, SSOBC will make referrals to other agencies that may be able to assist an individual with their needs.

SSOBC monitors and ensures that all sub-contractors providing Homemaking and Personal care services comply with all AAA9 and ODA rules and regulations.

To qualify, a person must be a Belmont County resident age 60 years or older, demonstrate need, and meet eligibility requirements.
