Senior Services of Belmont County (SSOBC)
Many older adults remain independent for most of their lives. Unfortunately, there are others who find themselves needing help with daily living activities like meal preparation and access to medical appointments. When an older adult can no longer meet these needs independently, SSOBC offers service options that can help people live independently in their own homes longer.
Services are made possible in part by funds generated through Belmont County’s Senior Services Levies, PASSPORT Waiver programs, and Title III through the Ohio Department of Aging’s designee Area Agency on Aging, Region 9. Donations toward the cost of services from those we serve also help fund our program. Requests for donations are required in order to meet requirements associated with funding. Donations are not accepted from seniors receiving services through PASSPORT or other Medicaid Waiver programs. Services are not denied to those who cannot afford to make donations.
To be eligible for services, residents must:
- Be at least 60 years of age
- Reside in Belmont County and not be a resident of a nursing home.
- Demonstrate a need for services.
An assessment will be completed to determine eligibility for available services.
